Event Details

On March 24th, the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange (MITX) is hosting an event to highlight the Commonwealth's ongoing “Government 2.0” initiatives.  The Commonwealth’s Chief Information Officer, Anne Margulies, will be presenting the state's broader open data initiative that has been launched as a beta project at Mass.Gov/data. Anne was the Executive Director of MIT OpenCourseWare, MIT’s initiative to publish the basic teaching materials for essentially the entire curriculum available openly and freely over the Internet and is a big believer in open data.

MassDOT will be providing an overview of its developers initiative, with a focus on the impact of the MassDOT/MBTA Real-Time XML Trial Feed.  As part of this event, MassDOT will be announcing the winners of its Real-Time Challenge, which closes on March 19th.  Submissions that use the real-time feed are eligible for  $1,000 cash prizes.  For more information on the challenge and complete rules, click here

MITX has been gracious enough to provide the MassDOT Developers and Mass.Gov Open Data communities with free tickets to the event.  MITX is the premiere Internet business and marketing association in New England, dedicated to creating opportunities for businesses and individuals to connect, grow, and thrive.  The event should be an excellent opportunity to connect developers and entrepreneurs who have used MassDOT and Mass.gov data with MITX’s diverse community of industry CIOs, venture capitalists, and internet and mobile marketing professionals.

Space is limited, so it is required that your RSVP for the event and bring your ticket for check-in the night of the event.

The event takes places at Microsoft NERD, One Memorial Drive in Cambridge.  We strongly encourage taking public transportation to the event.  Click here for directions.
